Course Description
This course is an English preparatory course focusing on the skills required for effective writing in a variety of contexts, with emphasis on exposition, analysis, and argumentation. It also covers reading comprehension. This course was designed to prepare students to be successful in College Composition I course
Learning Outcomes
- Communicate effectively through writing, utilizing appropriate grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
- Establish and maintain an effective use of rhetorical strategies to a specific audience and communicate a clearly identifiable central thesis and/or message.
- Identify and implement active reading and note-taking strategies.
- Demonstrate effective essay structure through logically-organized written presentations.
